Division of Land Time: Mid-dayWeather: The sun is high in the sky, and although the air is chilly, the grassless areas of rock are absorbing its heat. There is a lot of snow still where the trees are there to shade it.Location: We are at the mountain's peak, on an outcrop of rock. This particular slab gives a perfect view of Kouhai, revealing its large plains and tree clusters with clarity. Behind us are trees but where we stand is mainly clear of them.As tamyran approached the mountain's peak, she deliberately stepped slowly in the snow to hear it crunch. Winter was over and soon there wouldn't be many chances to hear that sound again. It was being replaced by a trickle as the snow melted. She stopped at the outcropping, her colorless eyes surveying what she saw. All that plentiful land below them to be divided and she wanted none of it. Her mind was set on these mountains, the type of reigon she was raised in. There were woods full of prey and shelter, but Tamyran had concluded long ago that a life you didn't need to work for wasn't really worth living. And those monotonous plains, with their rolling hills and open space were just too boring for her liking. It was the mounatins that brought snowmelt to the rest of Kouhai, naturally holding power over its life; it was like the mountain had a personality. She liked that. Coming to a stop, the female looked around to see the other two that were supposed to be here. She figured it would be more polite to wait untill they all stopped to sit down. She didn't see either of them, though Carger was kind of sneaky and that wasn't surprising. But Nevar must be late, she thought, taking a deep breath. The elevation changed the air quality here, she noticed. Tamyran stood there and waited.

Carger closed his bright, golden eyes. He stood at the small, flat area at the top of the mountain, barely big enough for him to stand on. He'd spent a good portion of his life in the mountains, his paws accustomed to the hard-packed soil and the rocky surface. He wasn't ready to go back to that life. He remembered that life clearly. But that life had been too open, too public. He could never have his own way. He could be by himself, but in the mountains someone could always be watching you. Too many crevices, cracks, seams in the mix. The vast ocean of grasses that he could see was even worse. It was one thing to be seen, but on the winds it was too easy to hear, smell, and see someone from a mile off.
He'd long since turned his gaze to the forests. Silent, secret. The trees provided cover from sight, the thousands of animals spread in the area limited scent and hearing. It had plenty of prey, he'd seen from his scoutings, and was an enormous area. Since the mountains ringed the lands, the forests and plains were split almost evenly. He could only estimate the area, but it was enormous. And the lake, too. The river cut through the plains, and he knew that there had to be dozens of smaller brooks all over the mountains, so he assumed whoever would get the forests would also get the lake. It gave another food source, a nice place to dig dens - although most wolves preferred to sleep alone and above the ground, he wanted a central place for his pack to eat meals.
But he was getting ahead of himself. His eyes opened and he turned around, descending a slight rise in the mountains. Once he bounded over the rocks, Tamyran came into view. "Hey," he said vaguely, walking in a controlled fashion towards him. "Is Nevar with you?" he inquired lightly, glancing around. He hadn't sensed the younger male, but he never knew. Could be hiding.

After a few seconds of Tamyran listening to the nearby stream, Carger appeared. It was fortunate that she didn't have to wait so long, since this meeting was already overdue. But there was still the question of Nevar. "He isn't here," she replied, turning to look at Carger. "Shall we give him a minute?" At his answer, she turned her gaze back to the view before her, her mind already going over plans for the future pack. She needed to explore the area and choose spots to meet and rest…
The agreement had been to meet at the mountain peak once the sun reached the center of the sky. But of course Nevar could have underestimated the amount of time he would need to get there, or maybe he was lost. The mountains weren’t the safest place to meet. But the reason they’d chosen this spot was because of the view it gave of the land that was to be divided. Hopefully this would be the solution to their disagreements for a while (Tamyran was certain a conflict was going to find its way into the mix eventually).

In the distance, a sound of tumbling soon echoes throughout the land, pebble size rocks bouncing down the mountain as they hit large stones. Cracks soon covered in dust as Nevar finally regains stability of his footing. He curses under his breath as he watches himself regain his balance. He slowly looks up to the other wolves who sat at the edge looking out. The heat didn't bother him, but the steepness of the mountain did. He finally reaches to the top taking a deep breath he clasp down, hugging the rocky ground. "I assume I am late," as he looked towards the sun, watching it slowly shifted.

Carger would've spoken but for Nevar's sudden arrival. He saw the rocks beginning to tumble before they actually fell, and in a split second he could gauge that there was someone causing them to move and that the falling rocks wouldn't reach them. The mountains were too predictable for him. They just couldn't surprise him anymore. He needed something that he was familiar with, so that he wouldn't disappoint his pack, but he needed something where he would be exploring himself. There were forested areas in his home mountains, so he was familiar with the ecosystem there, but it was different at every corner, every day. He shook his head, bits of his winter coat floating behind him with the wind. Faint smells came to him on the wind, making a genuine smile form on his face. He felt victorious. He had no pack, he had no land, but he would. This meeting would lead to his victory. He would win. Not against anyone, but against himself. Against time. Against the odds. A wise man fights to prove to himself, a fool fights for others. He was no fool. He looked at Nevar as the rocks cleared, licking his lips. "Not unbearably so," he said cautiously, trying to brighten his voice to a more conversable tone. "But, now that you're here, shall we get down to business?"

Tamyran felt satisfied when she heard Nevar approaching. She knew it was he because really there wouldn't be many animals of a wolf's size on the mountain's peak. A smile appeared on her face. She was glad she wasn't going to have to wait for him. “Hello, Nevar." She felt free to sit now and she did so, facing to the side as to see the land below without turning her back on the others. "I think that we should all say which area we want first off, and perhaps there will be no need for arguing over this," she said, bluntly addressing the group's tendency to disagree. Her eyes scanned over them both, looking for agreement. It was normal for the female to lead the discussions, but of course she was always fair about things.

Nevar felt all the motions running through them, he already realized it was to late to pick the lands since they all had decided on one. He was left with the plains, but it was no burden on him for he understood the plains, he knew how to survive them. His calm mood made it easy to understood his argument, as he slowly moved his body off the ground. "It seems to me that you all already made your choice." He looks off the cliff, "I'm happy to say that i do not want the mountains, but i won't fight for the forest. I will take the plains with peace, for i was the late one." He says as generous as possible.

Carger watched Nevar carefully. "I suppose," he said, looking at the othe rmale. He seemed too reluctant to submit to the will of the majority. Much like his own alpha, who had run a successful pack. But it wasn't Carger's way. Every time he imagined himself like that, it was just...impossible. He wasn't made that way.
He looked at Tamyran. "You seem to have an eye for the mountains, unless I'm mistaken," he said easily. "I myself am interested in the forests, if no one else is." His voice was diplomatically smooth, general unchanging. His eyes were careful, watchful, waiting for every reaction. To screw something up now meant something bad would happen later, and he didn't want that to happen. Ever. It may have been inevitable, as it always is; especially with these three...different...wolves.

Nevar's eye soon shifted, his body staying still. The mood swings he felt soon changed, as another wolf enter their sight. He soon moved his head towards the direction in which he felt these feelings. He kept his emotions from showing, then again, kept her emotions from showing. Nevar soon looked away, finally his body soon relaxed. He looked to Tamyran and then back out to the lands in which he was about the claim. The mid-day sun was heating the ground, the early morning frost was melted giving the grass to drink from. The clouds from the West were slowly shifting towards his empty land, as his buffalo's slowly grazed. "Is this the land you would like, Tamyran?" As he spoke of the mountains.

It was surpirising that the land was pretty much divided already, within the first few minutes of the meeting. She was proud that her suggestion had worked. Paxton happily circled around inside her, satisfied. "Yes, I have my eye on these mountains," she replied. The mountain pass is the only way to get into Kouhai, and Tamyran wanted to make sure it was looked over the right way. You know that saying 'if you want something done right...'? "Are we at an agreement then? And the rest of Kouhai is rogue territory.." The rest of Kouhai wasn't anything these three wolves would want. It was all thickets and paches of trees with sparse life.

Carger looked over them, the breezes going across them. "I suppose," he said, his voice almost a murmur. A thought occured to him, one that he'd almost forgotten to speak of. "And seeing as the forest itself has no steady source of water, the lake to the east of it would be considered my land?" He stretched easily, his mind already going over how long it would take to get the pack ready to run. It wouldn't take long to get back down to ground level, not for him. Then it was only a matter of hard running to get back to the lake, which was where he would first start. And then, full steam ahead. He'd need a denning area, an established hunting route, scent marks, and then diplomatic matters like a hierarchy and rules. When he tried to think of one, he could only think of the ones in the pack he'd grown up in. With modifications, of course. And then..."I would like my pack, when wolves begin to enter, to be called Ileai." He did not state his reason, nor if he had a reason. Carger's mind was already away from them, at the forest, thinking about his plans. An eerie green flame flickered at his paws absently, his eyes reflecting the light off of them.

Nevar looks to Carger as his paw soon to flicker. He sat there for a few seconds as he watched this flicker, and soon snapped out of it. After hearing the name of Carger's pack he soon had thoughts cross his mind 'What should i call my pack? Where should i lead them? What should i do? and soon after realizing the answers he spoke out "Aquene- peace. That is what i will call my pack." as he nods in agreement with himself. "Should i have to worry about other wolves entering my land that is from your territories? Because i believe that is a lot of worrying if i must say so."

She had thought only briefly about what to call her pack. But the right name was suggested to her just then. "Imperius", Paxton whispered. It did sound like a strong name, the kind to remeber."My pack then shall be called Imperius," she said, taking a mental note of the names the others had chosen. It felt like they were making history right here on this rock, like they would be known later on as the founders of Kouhai.
Tamyran found Nevar's choice of words odd, but she didn't say anything. "I think it's pretty much established that our packs don't trespass. Not without a reason and/or making themselves known." She wasn't proposing a rule, she was setting one. The idea of territory was just that, wasn't it? "But I won't protest against a necessary visit." Her eyes flickered from Nevar to Carger. A necessary visit, now just what would that be?

Carger nodded. "I agree," he said honestly. "With all of the territory splits, and the only neutral land being left..." He skipped a beat, looking each of them in the eye. "If a wolf is banished from one our packs, are they banished from all three packs and sentenced to the unclaimed lands?" As he spoke, everything ran through his head. What was he getting himself into? He knew how to run a pack, he supposed, he'd seen other wolves run packs, he knew what to do and how it worked, but was he...ready? Was he prepared for what he would see?
No. No, of course not. Any wolf thrust into leadership is never fully prepared. His alpha had seemed tht way, but was not. Carger had always been able to sense tension in people, by their stances and tones and in general just knowing when things went on behind his back.

" Imperius and Ileai " Nevar says to himself as he looked to the lands of Kouhai. He soon looked to the wolves as they began to speak of his question, he nods in agreement. His Burly Wood Brown eyes soon reflected the sun as he looked to Carger the question of banishment enter his perked ears. "I believe a wolf has a second chance, but i also believe its the choice of the pack if they accept banished wolves." Nevar says to the question. " But i will not disagree in not letting them in, for they are banished for a reason." He continues not sure what to think of that question. He tries to think of a reason to why they would be banned and if he would allow them in his pack.
