Name: Shima.
Age: Three years.
Species: Timber wolf
Gender: Female
Appearance: Shima has a dark brown strip down her nose with a light brown around her eyes, though there is a dark grey lining the edges which contrasts with her amber eyes. Her shaggy fur often slows down her running as the whispers of wind are lost in her thick coat, though Shima believes that if the drag grows stronger, it is because the spirit of her brother is rushing against her in the gales, furious at her for taking his life.
Personality: She is used to being alone, and after all this time it’s no wonder that she resents most packs, feeling that they are all like hers; liars and ready to betray one another at any moment. Deep down, she knows she has a deep jealousy for those that still stand together, and is torn between a desire to hurt them to show them her pain, and the longing in her heart that tells her to join them. However, as she has become more skilled at avoiding other packs, she rarely sees this kind of companionship, and is glad of it, feeling it re-opens the old wounds that stain her past. Travelling alone, Shima has often found she has trouble hunting, and because of this, she is rather slim and most of the time she will turn away from any challenging fights in favour of smaller pray, simply because she has no confidence and not enough energy to take down anything larger.
History: Within her own pack, Shima would often linger in the shadows while her parents paid all their attention to a sickly runt that was their son. His name was Jayko. Often they had spoken of him rising to power in the pack and seizing control, but Shima had always known that it was never to be, and had they not been blinded by their love, they would have seen it to. Nevertheless, her parents raised the cub, all the time neglecting her and encouraging him to grow strong and fight the alpha to gain control of the pack. This was not helped when the alpha, now nearing the end of his life, grew sickly and tired. Shima had often hunted beside him, as he had noticed her distance from her parents, and to her, he was the only one worth giving respect to. The day came all too soon when Shima listened to her parents murmuring the final plans to the son she now refused to call her brother. Jayko crept out as dawn broke, preparing his attack on the alpha (and a cowardly one it was, for he had no intention of challenging him officially, but to take him in his sleep) at a time when there would be no witnesses. Shima had shifted quickly through the shadows, and in a swift movement and a snap of jaws, her brother was nothing more than a corpse upon the ground, his eyes wide and lifeless.
The taste of his blood ripped at her senses and sanity, and slowly she had turned her back on the scene and fled, rushing from her pack, not caring about the territory she may have been wandering into, but rather more about the monster she felt she had become. She had destroyed another wolf, and her own brother at that! Her paws crashed to the ground rapidly as she ran until she could run no more, and the young timber wolf crashed to the ground among the leaves, her ears pressed against her head and her pale amber eyes slowly shutting as she succumbed to the exhaustion. Her dreams were merely her reliving that kill over and over, and every time she swore the metallic taste that burned in her throat grew stronger.
Shima woke the next night, a new clarity in her thoughts. Nobody in her pack would understand, not even the one she had been trying to save...With the exception of her parents, though as a bitter afterthought, she wondered if they had even noticed she was alive. With that, Shima began to run again, now fearing pursuit from her old pack, using all she knew about them to escape getting caught and suffering a fate she assumed would be far less painless than she had made her brothers.
Now Shima wanders aimlessly, hunting when she needs, but always careful of new wolves, fearing that they may be members of her old pack, sent out to bring an abrupt end to her short life...
Relatives: Her only living relatives are her parents, though she barely considers them family anymore
