Serendipity (Serr-in-dip-et-tey)-an aptitude for making desirable discoveries by accident.
Nickname-Seren.
Gender: Female
Species: Eastern Timber Wolf
Age: 3 years, two seasons
Pack: Ileai
Rank: Hunter
Power:
Serendipity has the power of a bubble-like forcefield. The bubble is not visible, but it surrounds Serendipty completley when she calls upon it. It protects her from all physical attacks that come her way, but it drains her energy quickly and can not be used for more than several moments at a time.
Appearance:
Serendipity isn't the tallest of her species, only about 30 inches tall, or 2 and a half feet. Shes about 4 feet long, from the base of her tail to her nose. She weighs in at about 115 pounds, but her sturdy, broad bones make up for most of that weight, along with her thick fur. Her legs are thick, but long, as goes for her body. She has a broad head and shoulders, and looks somewhat masculine from afar. Her tail is long and bushy, as is most of the rest of her fur.
Her long fur coat is an off-white color and her tail is slightly grey, not that you can tell most of the time. She doesn't pay alot of attention most of the time to her appearance, and so more often then not she is atleast half covered and mud and you can barely tell what color her fur originaly was. Her large eyes are a dark grey in color, and are very expressive; you could read Serendipity like a book most of the time. Her larger than average nose is very dark, and even her ears are large. Her teeth are sharp, some of them chipped in places. She doesn't have many scars, just one right below her shoulder blade, because of her ability to defend herself. She had gotten in fights before, but before she could get any scars, she called upon her forcefield bubble to defend herself.
Personality:
Serendipity is very kind, very sweet. Shes a good girl at heart, and would never think about breaking the pack rules. She is very trustworthy, and trusts others very easily, which isn't always a good thing. She strives to see the good in others, even when there is no good to find. Shes an optimist, so she prefers to look on the bright side of things. It takes a lot to bring her mood down.
But, as much as a sweetheart she is, shes not very brave. Sure, she'll but on a brave face now and then and suck up her cowardice, but more often than not shes shaking inside. She doesn't like fighting, and doesn't like going headfirst into something unkown. When exploring a new territory, or a place that she had never been to before, she can usually be find in the middle of the group, not in the front or the back where she thinks the most vulnerable places are.
Even though she doesn't have much courage, she is a skilled hunter. Her keen eyesight and sense of smell help her here, and also her fast reflexes. She rarely goes hungry because of this, only during the winter months and sometimes in the summer when the heat or the cold is unbearable, and drives the prey away.
History:
Serendipity was born an only child into the pack, to two wolves that were also in the pack. Her mother and father had joined the pack, because it was relativley new. Seren knew that Carger had left his home, though where that had been she didn't know, and came to Kouhai and started it. Her parents had joined not long afterwards, and they both died a few months after Seren was born, one after the other from a mysterious illness. By the time they had died, she was already moving around and eating solid food, so she did not have to nurse off any of the other she-wolves in the pack at the time. She missed them, of course, they were her parents. But she didn't stay sad for long; she moved on.
She had been well on her way to becoming a succesful hunter, soon after they passed away. She often chased rabbits and the like when they were around, catching several by 9 months old. It was around this age that she had found out about her power. She had been chasing a small deer, just a baby that had gotten seperated from its mother somehow. She chased it, knowing that even if she did't kill it it would die anyways without its mother. She hadn't seen the black bear charging at her from her side, and was knocked over from the sheer strength of it. She had gotten the scar on her shoulder blade from this large bear, who must have been half-starved since it had charged her. It was there, laying on her side, hoping and preying that she would somehow live that she had unknowingly called upon her force-field bubble. She didn't know she had done it untill the bear went to kill her, only to slam against the walls of the bubble. She didn't understand at first, but after practicing for several days after that, she realized her power and worked on strengthening it.
After that, Serendipity used her power to take on larger prey once in a while, attacking some of the predators that came down from the mountains, such as a moantian lion or a bear. She didn't do this often though, but she was beginning to learn that the longer she held out the bubble, the more tired she became. One day, when she was learning about the limits of her powers, she passed out after holding it out for several long moments. She just fell over, unconsious, and her bubble disappeared. She awoke shortly after, grateful that nothing had attacked her while she had been vulnerable.
Serendipty has never had a mate or pups, but she would like to have them eventually. She had seen couples during the mating season, then again with their pups, and knows that someday, she wants to be one of those couples. But she isn't sure that she is quite ready for that yet. She is still young, and has a lot of life left in her. Maybe someday, but not now.
Sample:
Serendipty felt the pangs of hunger in her stomach, and quickened her pace, making sure to step quietly. The forest was hushed; she couldn't hear a sound. Not even the birds were singing. She glanced up to see clouds the color of her eyes, dark and grey. The storm was getting closer, and she was desperate to eat before it hit.
A few moments later, as she turned in a new direction, she felt the first few drops of rain fall and hit her pelt. She sighed, defeated. Just as she was about to stop, and go home, she saw something up ahead... a large, tan/brown lump laying on its side, barely breathing. She took a few more steps closer, and realized that it was a doe, sick. Almost dead. Seren sent a prayer up to the sky, and quickly put the doe out of its misery. It was scrawny from being sick, and there wasn't much meat on the small deer, but it would do.
