Mawla
Protector / Maw-La / May
Gender: Female
Species: Gray Wolf
Age: Three years and three seasons
Pack: Ileai
Rank: Hunter; Working her way up.
Power:
Mawla has but two powers. The power to purify water, and the power to draw water from the clouds; or to make it rain. Creating rain is nearly impossible; Mawla is still unable to do so, but her mother mastered it years ago. Purifying, on the other hand, is much easier. The only problem with this, is if the water is full of disease or extreme cases of bacteria, she will grow ill. This can be permanent or temporary. Mawla has multiple magical influences; her mother and old Alpha being the most helpful. When the wolf was born her Alpha created rain to help with the drought to save her and her mother, as well as the rest of the pack, and ever since she'd been practicing her powers with her pack, until recently, when she left it. She's now been with Ileai.
Appearance:
Mawla is a fairly petite wolf. She's only about thirty-five inches at the shoulders, and five feet from her nose to her tail; weighing in at about seventy-two pounds. Her shoulders are arched a lot higher than normal, and her back resembles the shape of a valley because of her arched shoulders and hips. The patterns in her pelt really tell who she is. Her fur has an interesting pattern; At her shoulders is a beautiful mix of browns and blacks, fading into a light gray. The gray in her fur is full of tiny speckles of black and white, and eventually, the rest of her pelt turns into white, leaving her feet black. Right in the center of Mawla's golden eyes she has a white patch of fur. The black and brown fur around really help outline the shape of this white patch; A raindrop. Under the moonlight this patch of fur will turn a mysterious light blue and glow slightly, as well as her eyes looking more clear like water (but still gold). Almost all wolves that share her power have this marking somewhere on their body, or in more places than one. Her golden eyes are spotted with brown and a little bit of a dark green around her pupils.
Mawla's upper right tooth sticks out of her mouth at all times, and her left ear is half floppy. In the middle of a fight (that she lost) her ear was damaged badly and fell limp, as well as leaving a few bare spots where the other's teeth were. She also has a few claw marks on her legs. She has a lot of fur on her, and the most of it is on her tail, which for some reason, hardly ever tangles up. Her tail in general is longer than most other's would be, and ever so slightly curls up. The very tip of her tail is totally black, like her paws.
Personality:
She can be quite the flirt.
Mawla is a very, very nice wolf. She understands the feelings of others, and understands when people need their space. One thing she doesn't understand, though, is when someone needs to be left alone. She's constantly socializing with other wolves, especially when they're down in the dumps, and tries to cheer them up. She'll keep trying and trying, and she won't stop. Eventually she'll get nipped, or barked at, and she'll back off. On rare occasions she'll take the hint. She's very bashful, and gets embarrassed very easily, and at first, is very shy. Because she's been with the pack for quite some time, she's very comfortable around them, only a little nervous around the higher ranking wolves, afraid of making a mistake or saying the wrong thing. She's also very hopeful, and someday hopes of getting out of her hunter position.
Pack mates; To her? The best of friends. A wolf couldn't go anywhere in life without the loyalty, and friendship that a pack mate gives. Ever since the beginning, Mawla has had someone there for her at all times, especially the worst. Her mother, her siblings, her old and new pack.. They were all a part of her and will be forever. Somehow, she knows each one of them, even if they haven't yet, will make some type of impact on her life, whether it be good or bad. Hopefully friends will bring her good, and not bad. Even though pack mates are key to survival, there are a few things about Mawla that makes her sometimes doubt even them. She doesn't trust people too easily, and it takes a lot for her to just totally throw her emotions out. As of now, none of Ileai pack mates know much about her.
The Alpha Dogs; To her? The structure and roots of her life. These guys are who set her straight. These are the guys who teach her wrong from right, and good to bad. Without them she would definitely be dead, or close to. In her eyes, Alpha's are really the only members of the pack you can give most of all of your trust to. They do, basically, hold your life in their hands after all. She's well aware of how easily they could have you mauled, chased out of the lands and starved. She also respected them with almost everything she knew. She'd never backtalk, or disregard anything they'd ever say to her. What they said was word, and word was law. And the law? It was NOT to be disobeyed.
One of the most important goals in her life was to have a family. Pups, in her eyes, had to be the most joyful thing any one thing could ask for. She wanted a litter of three, with two boys and one girl, but really anything would be okay. She dreams of being a mother often, in the early stages of pregnancy and even when her pups are months old and about to go on their first hunting lesson with their father. She also often dreams of being elderly, and having her own pups care for her on the last day of her life. It was always so peaceful and so nice, but she was afraid to never have pups because of this dream. Having pups was crucial to her. What if she grew old alone? Surely, she would not be able to survive the winter? And how would she protect herself?
If anyone other than the Alpha's deserved all of her respect, it was definitely the elders. Wise, strong, and powerful. They lived many years and seen many battles, and just living so long, someone deserved a sense of pride, and Mawla would give it to them. By now, the elders she used to look up to were long dead, and each of them taught her things she could have never learned from anyone but them. They taught crucial life lessons, and they were the ones that should be looked out for the most; they are no where near as strong as they used to be. They needed guidance, just as the young wolves do.
I'm strong. I'm fierce. I'm small, but I can fight. I can hunt like no one has ever seen before, and mark my words, I'll give you all something to remember about me. I am a true protector just like my name says I am, and I'll do anything I can to protect and serve those around me. I'll fight to the death and I'll put an end to any threat I see... with my Lord's permission, of course. What he says goes and there will never be any question about it. I wouldn't change a thing about myself. I am the Protector, I am loyal, and I love who I am.
History:
Parents; Lord Maverick and Lady Rina
Siblings; Mia, Maverick the second, and Mindi.
Birthpack; Raindriven
Mate; None
Battles; Wins multiple and loses few, but it does happen. Most of her opponents have been weak.
Learning about Ileai pack; Her mother knew the Alpha, Carger. (If that's alright?)
Ever since she was a pup Mawla was all about her powers. She wanted to one day master making the clouds cry, as her grandfather told her, and show the world she was something to look up at. She wanted to grow up and be an idol for pups, and even those older than her. Her ultimate dream was to heave an elder look up to her. For anything.
In the past, she decided her pack wasn't the one for her. They were all the same. They had the same powers, they all resembled each other, and there wasn't enough diversity. The Raindriven pack was all of her family. The elders were great grandparents, the elders were her grandparents, and her mother and father were the Alpha's. It would have been great to take over, but she needed to do that elsewhere, if it ever happened. She didn't want to live under anyone's shadow, especially her father's. When her mother spoke of this new forming pack, Ileai, she decided that's what she would do. She would go to this pack and start all over. So far it's working. But everything's just begun.
Sample:
Her paws pounded onto the ground like a thunderstorm, and her breath escaped from her mouth like the wind. Looking to her left she saw her mother, Rina and to her right, her brother, Martin. Directly in front of the group was a small deer running for it's life.
A loud snarl was audible and her sister Mia took the deer from the side, throwing it onto the ground, and her father quickly jumping on top of it. It wasn't every day the Alpha's partook in hunting, but when they did, it sure was exciting.
Mawla charged in next and grabbed the animal by it's throat, her mother clawing at it's stomach, and her family working as a perfect team to make the catch.
Sadly, that was the third deer they had taken down today. This was the only successful catch.
Mawla had taken up multiple hunting tips from her mother, and one she used today. When maneuvering after pray through the trees use your eyes, but don't look away from the prey too often. If it's about your size, follow it's movements. If it's smaller, crouch lower to the ground. If it's bigger, you're in the clear.
And never slow down. Not unless you have to.
(Erm, lame sample. It's wicked small, but I really can't think right now. I'll probably re do it later, but this is what I came up with x) I promise I'll do better. I really need something to reply to, to get going, aha.)
