Star Gazing [/color] Time: Just after sunset, though there are still a few rays of sunlight coming from west. Stars are just beginning to appear in the east. Weather: The skies are clear, and its about 80 degrees. A breeze sweeps the land once in a while. Location: On the edge of the river
Ayame padded up the the edge of the river, laying down at its shore. She was so close, that if the river were higher her paws would be in the water. But as it was summer and the temperature remained always scorching hot, the river's water had decreased rapidly. She sighed, looking over the edge, into what was left of the murky water. She toyed with the idea of jumping in to help cool off, while turning her head to stare up into space. The pretty she-wolf had always loved the mysterious night sky. It was so vast, with so many pinpricks of light. Looking up at them, she always felt small. But it wasn't really a bad feeling. She sighed, but couldn't tear her eyes away from the skies beauty.

He watched her in amazement, he was taking his break on watching the injured she-wolf, and he needed to clear his mind so what could be better than a walk down to the lake, he took a fond notice of her piercing yellow eyes and dipped his head low to look at his own. He walked away slowly as not to disturb her, back towards the dens, but then changed direction to pace up behind her watching her staring at the sky.
The wind howled and coursed through his veins along with blood, "Just be careful, watch your feet, be respectful. " it howled to him, he pushed himself forward, "Nice night huh? You waiting on someone m'lady?" He asked and waited a response.

Ayame turned her head to smile at the male wolf, not surprised. She had heard him leaving, then change directions to come towards her. While his changing directions confused her, she did not dwell on wondering why he had done it. She stood to be polite, parting her jaws slightly. A breeze rippled through her multi-colored fur as she said, "Hello." Glancing again at the night sky, she agreed with him. "Yes, its a gorgeous night." Then, to answer his question, she barked, "No, no one. I was just sitting out here, lonely." Her smile widened, and it was a kind, friendly one with plenty of feeling.

"Well then M'lady can I help you with something? Need a map? Medicine?" he asked her with a respectful smile "Mind if I sit?" he finished still smiling. Squall was never really 'good' with the ladies... there hadn't been any time for them in the old lands, he was always too busy. A silence swept over him, "M'lady may I have your name? And what made you travel to the lands of the Aquene?" he broke the stillness as he watched the night sky.

Ayame blushed slightly at all his formality. He was charming, truly charming. "No, I don't need anything, just a little company." She admitted, sweetly, gazing into his bright, yellow eyes. "I'd love it if you sat with me." She offered him one of her shy, sweet, friendly smiles. glancing at her paws. She moved her slender body, so that it was now in a sitting position, her long, furry tail now resting near her feet. A few feet away, she heard a fish flop out of the water, and by the sounds of it, it was a large one. Ayame ignored it, prefering to talk to this charming wolf. Besides, she had eaten earlier and wasn't all that hungry just yet.

"Aye." he nodded and went to set beside her, "You may call me Squall." he smiled at her generously. "I am sure Nevar will want to meet you if you are planning on staying." He told her with the hopes of her staying.

Ayame kept smiling, feeling better than she had in days. "Well, hello Squall." She woofed, still gazing into his eyes. "Yes, I think I will be staying." It had been her goal all along, but now she knew for certain that that was what she wanted to do.

"Well then m'lady, let us walk to the den site, I am sure the others there will be just as honored as I to meet you." he spoke in a chauvinistic tone, the moonlight shining in his bright yellow eyes. "Well I speak for myself when I say this, m'lady Ayame. Welcome to the Aquene." He finished but still with a smile, as he started toward the den site, beckoning her to follow him.

Ayame's eyes widened slightly as she watched him for a moment. The den... So many wolves in one place... what if they didn't like her? Would they attack? But Squall seemed pretty sure that they would welcome her... she rose to her feet, deciding that all she could do right now was trust him. She stretched her forelimbs once before padding after him, slowing when she reached his side. "Thank you for welcoming me.. its good to be here." She smiled at him, growing a little more excited with every step that they took.

Squall watched Ayame as they walked towards the den. He was glad that they had met, so he could get his mind off of the death of Mawla. He felt at ease with the she wolf, and anyone could tell. This was the easiest that Squall had felt in years. but he had enough of the serene silence so he broke it by saying, "Ayame, here in the lands of the Aquene, we all have something unique that we offer to the pack that makes it thrive. What brings you here? If you don't mind me asking." he said respectfully, looking back at her and giving her a nice, calm smile.
