She hesitated. "Somewhat," she said. "When it's in control, I have a say in what it does, but it still...lives." Silly. It couldn't live. "It's more blunt, more simple, but it appears as sort of a shadow. It can't live without me, so it always comes back no matter how much control I have over it." She closed its eyes. She could feel its presence, in itself, and she realized how much of a mind it did seem to have. It waited, and it didn't try to surface when she was hungry or tired or weak, or when danger was about. Maybe at some point she could be active even when her spirit was roaming. Yeah, right. She hardly recognized the fact that he'd been more curious then surprised or, to her subconscious relief, disgusted.

"Ah, no wonder." Reverend said. "I can feel it's emotions also." He paused for a second. "I do have a second ability, as long as we are on the subject." His eyes flashed blue, and a rock the size of his head lifted of the ground, clumps of moist dirt feel form it as it rose into the air, black beetles scurried across its damp surface, shiny under the moon's light. The rock halted at eye level, and then dropped suddenly, producing a dull thud. Reverend never looked at the rock as he did this, he was watching Aksha for her reaction.

Aksha watched with intruiging curiosity. "That's amazing," she said carefully. "Do..." She paused, not sure if she wanted the answer or not. "Do many wolves have these powers? My former pack wasn't familiar, or at all approving of the, uh, gifts, that other wolves have." 'Approve, she thought bitterly. You could say that. Considering she was chased off of her turf on penalty of death. But she couldn't see what had really happened. Her mind had made up so many stories that she didn't know which was real and which wasn't. "I haven't had too many experiences with other powers myself."

Anjou trotted behind Tamyran, as other wolves came into view. "Hello there." She spoke with a golden tone, her soft, warm voice filled the cold, thick air. "I am Anjou, the goddess of the Lilies. Nice to meet you."

Aksha withdrew with a sharp surprise. She could've sworn that she and Reverend were alone there. She narrowed her eyes in caution, nervous about what this Anjou had heard. She felt somewhat safer around Reverend, despite several facts. He was younger, stronger, and healthier then her, nearly a fourth larger then her, and was a beta in a pack she hadn't even gained a formal rank in. But he just seemed easier for her to trust. Not like anyone in her old pack, that was for sure. She hastily half-bowed in Anjou's direction. "Aksaha Spiritus," she said formally, "though please, call me Aksha. And likewise."

"I know of some." Reverend replied, answering Aksha's question. "But of course it is not my place to say who it is, or what they did. You understand, right? I will not share the information you have given me, though i suggest telling the alpha, she Will find it interesting I believe." He said smiling and thought of Paxton. "She will not judge." He added, remembering her emotions when she thought of her power. They were interrupted by a female. Reverend turned around hurried, he had not realized that she was there. "Oh, hello there. I am Reverend. Are you the one that Tamyran went to find?"

His answer seemed a bit evasive to her, but she nodded readily. "Of course," she said, surprised that he would withhold information from the rest of the pack - including the alpha. The less people who knew, the better, though she supposed she should tell the alpha. She almost laughed as she thought of bringing it up. 'Oh, and by the way, I have a demonic soul that can manifest itself into a physical form?' Not happening. It wasn't evil, she supposed. It was her, and couldn't exist without her, so when it rose in times of need it was bent on protecting her - no matter the rules to any duel she may have been in, or the wolves who she fought. She was shocked, actually. She'd never noticed if it felt anything. She got vague messages from it, simple signs to flee or proceed. But now, as she focused, it really did seem to have a mind of its own. Now she could feel its slight displeasure, knowing well what happened everytime they got in a pack. It never spoke directly to her, though. She'd had plenty of conversations with herself, though. It got lonely out there, without a family or pack or mate.
She shook herself mentally in order to reconnect with the present, her gaze turning towards Anjou again.

Tamyran reunited with the two she'd left behind, pleased to see that the older wolf was still there. She looked at Anjou as she introduced herself as goddess, witholding any chuckle that would come up at that. Anjou wasn't like any wolf Tamyran had ever met, that was for sure. "Yes," she said to answer Reverend's question. She turned to Aksasha. "I left suddenly, I hope you do not take offense." She didn't technically apologise, as her actions hadn't been wrong in any way. There was an urge to find out what had happened here, but she usually drew a line where she would be invading confidence or any other type of privacy.

Anjou faced Reverend, "I am. Sorry if I interrupted." and then caught the look of Tamyran. "What's wrong?" she asked the Alpha female, "What's so funny?" she smiled as she looked to her Alpha almost laughing herself. But some where deep inside, she felt an uneasiness, she felt like these wolves would never understand, just because she came from a different place, and spoke different and was just all around different.
The thought of the word 'different' it made its way through her mind, it made her grimace, but before the others caught it she shook it off... Maybe this wasn't the place for her, but when with the Alpha she at least felt at home. Anjou hoped for the best.

"Of course," she said formally, her tensed muscles betraying the stiffness that she felt. She wanted to say something, such as how she knew of the endless work that an alpha had to deal with, but she couldn't. She just couldn't bring herself to say anything personal, anything that might attach her to this place. As far as she knew, it was just a dream, a nightmare in which she would awaken and her heart would break upon finding that she was alone again.
But try as she might, Aksha could not remember her own pack. She could recall their names, but when she tried to recall anything about them, she couldn't. When she remembered her littermates, all she could see was their shocked, afraid looks as that cursed deer fell in front of her. When she brought back memories of the elders, all she could see was their angry superstitions. At the thought of her parents, she could only remember how her mother had turned away in shame and how her father had disowned the alleged 'demon' that was his daughter. And when she called her former alpha to mind, she could see only his teeth and claws, and hear only his parting words to her.
Aksha shivered unconsciously, squirming almost unnoticably as her eyes caught Tamyran's. Her fear was that she would think of her new alpha as she did the old. And despite herself, god help her, that fear was already coming true. She had no reason not to like the alpha, or Anjou, but she simply couldn't help it. She inched a tad closer to Reverend, dropping her head a bit more, and forced her gaze to Anjou. She was the oldest of the pack, which would put her at a physical weakness, but she wasn't worried about fighting just yet. "Tamyran, Reverend," she thought suddenly, "did you have an idea of what rank I shall be holding in this pack?"

Reverend sensed the fear building in Aksha. He looked over at her in concern, wondering what had happened. She was doing so well before. She took a small step toward him, and wondered if he had earned her trust. He smiled at the thought. "Relax," He muttered to her. He thought about relaxing her himself, but now that she knew his power she would be aware that it was him, and might hate him for it.
He looked over a Tamyran, he didn't want to answer Aksha's question himself, for he did not want to steal Tamyran's thunder. If the two new members were to see him taking charge, and not her, they might never come to respect her, and in no way did Reverend want that. First of all, he respected Tamyran way to much for that, and second, he didn't have a reason to. Tamyran had shown her trust for declaring him beta. 'There will be other times to assert my rank.' He thought.

Tamyran lookes to Anjou. She had noticed her little slip. She never meant to hurt the wolf's feelings. "Oh, it's nothing. My thoughts get carried away sometimes." she said smiling. Her attention then turned to the other female's question. She was glad that she had decided to join the pack, though she didn't know when it happened. "I'm not sure which duty would suit you best, as I haven't really gotten to know you yet, my dear. If there's a rank you belive suits you, don't be afraid to speak." The wind blew, rustling the fur around Tamyran's neck. The sun set had begun and the air was shifting freely. The fact that she wasn't making them work their way up from the bottom was astounding, if only the two knew the privlage they were being granted. "If your choice isn't working for you we can always change your role," she stated. Was it a hint toward showing forgiveness or a hint saying they'd better do their job correctly? Somewhat both.

The wind blew, something that mildly surprised her. She wouldn't expect that wind would penetrate the deep mountain walls, so they must've been near the end of the passage. The mist enveloping her faded for just a moment, and Reverend's barely audible voice came to her. "Relax.' She didn't think Tamyran had heard, but as the alpha was speaking to Anjou, she nodded slightly in gratitude at Reverend. "I believe," she said a bit more confidently, when Tamyran turned back to her, "that I would be best suited as a quero - a scout." She wasn't sure how they worded their rankings here, but she was raised with both terms used freely.

Reverend smiled at Aksha. "I think that, that would be a fine rank for you." Reverend looked over at Tamyran. "From what she has told me she would make an excellent quero, and I do not think she was lying." He looked over at Anjou wondering if she too had any abilities.

Tamyran nodded. She normally wouldn't expect an older wolf to make a good queros, but she knew that certain wolves could not be underestimated. Certain wolves ike herself had excellent scouting abilities. And she trusted Reverend's judgement not only as a beta but also as her friend. "I accept you as a Queros, then. But know that these mountains are dangerous to those who don't know then well." She turned to Anjou at the end of her sentance. They should be aware of the duty they are undertaking. "Anjou also is taking on a Queros position," she said to Reverend. "I do believe an overlook of the terrain would be a good place to start then. A trip to the mountain peak." It was going to get dark, and it would be useless standing at the mountain's tip if they could't see. But it could take a while to get there, and a journey together would be a good pack-establishing type thing. They could sleep on a plateu nearby and look out when the morning came. (Trying to make this blend into "message in the wind")
