Old Friends Time: Sometime around MidnightWeather: Its a cold night, the wolves can see their breath raising in swirls above their noses. Minimual cloud coverage barely hides the vast expanse of stars. The moon bleaches everything with white light. The mushy snow glows faintly.Location: A small cave sits, nestled between two boulders. The landscare is bare save for a few dead bushes. Reverend titled his head, looking up at the thousands of twinkiling lights. He huffed loudly, watching as his breath swirled and dissappeared. He did it agian, bored. He was having trouble sleeping, again. When he felt himself relaxing, he let down the barriers around his mind and he read the emotions of those around him, making sleep impossible. He glanced around the land. He knew that no one would be up at this time. He stood up and jogged a few paces. The snow splatterd as he ran. He hated this time of in-between. It wasnt cold enough for the snow stay beautiful and powdery, and it wasnt hot enough to melt it competely. He was going to go search for somewhere where there wasnt anyone around. But that would be impossibe, becuase he could also read the emotions of other animals.

Tamyran's paws hit the snow as she roamed her new mountain territory. It was late, yes. but Paxton was insisiting that she tread this particular valley. Apparently he had made some discovery while he was sent out to explore the land, and Tamyran knew he wouldn't let her rest until she saw what he knew would be there. Therefore the female aquiesed.
"Yes, now look over there," the spirit instructed excitedly. As soon as her mind registered what it was looking at, he spoke again. "Our first pack member." Why exactly he was assuming the wolf ahead was going to be suitable for, or even interested in joining the pack was unknown to her. "Oh? What makes you so sure?" she muttered, continuing to close the gap between her and the unknown fellow. "You'll see.."
He was walking slowly away, and so Tamyran had to go faster than him to get closer. She spied familliar pale fur. "Go faster." Paxton was antsy inside her head. "You're so impatient!" she growled quietly. Her eyes tried their best to get a better view. Oh, and she couldn't belive their discovery! "Yes, it sure is!", said the spirit, able to read her thoughts. It was Reverend, the only friend of Tamyran's who knew her mysterious past. "Well go out there, Paxton!" she urged, immeadiately feeling his presence leave her body. Smiling, he raced toward Reverend to catch his attention. The old friend would be familliar with the invisible force.

Reverend was hit with strong emotions of excitement. He looked around, seeing a wolf far off. He could quite make out how it was but he stopped and perked his ears forward. A sudden chill passed though him, making his hair stand on end. There was no breeze, the air had been still and it still was, so why the sudden chill?
Then Reverend realized why the emotion was so powerful, it was coming from a spirit that he could not see. "Paxton?!" He yelped, then turned his eyes to the female that was approaching. Yes, it was indeed Paxton, there was Tamyran with her red streaks below her eyes.
Rev smiled broadly, and strode forward, closing the distance between the friends. "Why, who do we have here?" He wagged his tail.

Tamyran smiled when her friend turned around. She expected Paxton to come around like a boomerang, which he did. He rested within her with a satisfied feeling sort of like I told you so. "Friend! How long has it been?" She looked him over to notice any changes, but he was just as she remembered. "I am delighted to see you here, Reverend. I have an offer for you." It had taken her all day to find another wolf, but the one she had found certainly made up for that.

Reverend smiled, intrigued. "An offer?" He cocked his head to the side. He wondered what it could be, they really hadn't seen each other in awhile.

Tamyran smiled. "I'm delighted to see you here, because the land we stand on belongs to me. I'm forming a pack." She looked up at the pale moon before sitting down. Then her eyes turned back to him. "It isn't easy to find wolves here , as most of them continue through the passage and into the other lands. You're the first we've come across actually." By we she meant her and Paxton. "Would you join me?"

Reverend was startled, but a lazily smile crept across his muzzle. "You have a pack now." It wasn't a question, just a statement. "You will make a great alphess." He said, dipping his head to show his respect. "As for me, I would love to join your ranks. It would be an honor."
Reverend counted Tamyran as his only friend, and for that he was sad. It was time to end his rouge days. It was to lonely for his liking.
"Lets hope for my sake that the wolves that we recruit are unemotional." He said warily, not looking forward to the days of trying to block out a torrent of emotions.

An honor? Reverend should know the respect she had for him, proving himself trustworthy again and again. She was honored for him to accept. "Well I'd like to honor you with the Beta position," she added, hoping he would agree to the responsibility.
"Yes, that would be one of our first tasks." She says, nodding. "Wolves are scarce in these mountains, so we'd be better off checking on the passage that goes through." She knew Paxton would act like a scout for her, telling her where wolves were located and how to get there. Queros were not her top priority.

Reverend was yet again taken aback. "Yes of course I will accept!" His chest swelling with pride."I will serve you well." Then he made a show of becoming serious, and stoic, as a beta should be. But he couldnt hold back his happiness, and he cracked a smile.
"Well, let us get moving!"

"Indeed," she said, happy with her friend's enthusiasm. Starting a pack this way without a Beta would be hard to do, and she was grateful. She didn't know if Reverend remembered where the passage was, so she started walking to lead him there, with Paxton reminding her the way. She would get to know her land well, but it would take some time.
