Save me from Myself

These were foreign lands to the female wolf and to be honest it scared her slightly. Fidelity did not mind change, but only when she was expecting it; and well this new move, it was unexpected. She kept a slow pace taking in the vast mountain ranges that surrounded her, she felt trapped. The grass beneath her paws was cold to the touch as was the icy chill that surrounded her, thank god for her arctic genes our Fidelity would sure be frozen by nightfall. What was she doing here? Exploring, no. hunting, definitely no. She wanted to meet someone, end this loneliness that had been haunting her for so long.
When she came upon a boulder, Fidelity gracefully jumped onto it and settled her rump on the cold surface. To the looks of it, it seemed as if not a soul was around, but Fidelity knew better than to assume that she was alone, wolves could perfectly well hide. Lifting her white muzzle into the air, she let out one long note and then allowed her body to sink to the rock. She knew that if anyone was around they would here her call. She was desperate to meet someone.

Tamyran heard the loner's call, but she was already on her way. Her paws skillfully navigated down the rocky slope, its earth now home of thin, green weeds surviving on the snow melt. She paused and lifted her maw to call back in a howl. I'm here. She had told her scouts there was a wolf on their territory, and that she would take care of this one. Paxton, who didn't need to lead her anymore, had flown ahead to the valley.
Tamyran's paws touched down on the grass of the valley, the other wolf in plain sight. She paced toward the boulder, the fur on her coat rippling with her body's movement. The glassy eyes above her red streaks gave nothing of her mood away. It was starting to annoy her, all of these loners randomly appearing, and she knew she needed to mark off the territory better. Though the fact that the passage was nearby would mean never really being free of wanderers.
"That boulder belongs to me," she said calmly, stopping a few feet away. When she blinked her eyes they burned from leaving them open in the sun too long. Paxton giggled and she would have rolled her eyes at him but the female before her would have thought the wrong thing of it. Waiting for a response, her face was a stone.

A few birds flew overheard, their calls the only thing that filled the air. Fidelity’s muzzle was resting on her paws, her eyes almost closed, when the sound of another howl reach her ears. Her head shot up and her gold eyes fell on an approaching wolf. Fidelity pushed herself up into the sitting position and waited into the female wolf was in ear shot. Before she could speak, the other wolf did.
“That boulder belongs to me.
Gracefully, the arctic wolf jumped down from the rock, she quickly assumed this was the leader of the Imperium pack. “My apologies. My name is Fidelity, am I correct to assume you’re the leader?” She wasn’t quite sure where this meeting would lead; she couldn’t read any emotions on the other wolf. Hopefully it would go well.

This female knew she was on pack territory. She had even known the name of the pack, and she had called out. Therefore she must need help or be looking to join. Maybe she was lost. Those were Tamyran's thoughts. Her mind had been on other things: a pack gethering, and her lunch. Both of those could wait a while.
"Yes, my name is Tamyran," she replied, "You don't need to apologize." Paxton wove his way through Fidelity's feet as she stood there, like a dog at an agility contest. Not once did he touch her. "Is there something you need?" she asked, not letting his games distract her.

So far all seemed to be going well, I wouldn't say it was a warm conversation between the two females, but they were being cordial to each other; which Fidelity did not mind. She listened as the other wolf introduced herself as Tamyran. Now that was one name she would have to remember. Fidelity nodded her head as she heard that she was correct in assuming that this female lead the pack. "Is there something you need?"
If only Tamyran knew to the extent of what Fidelity needed, but now was not the place nor time to let her life story be heard. With a small sigh, she locked her stare with Tamyran's. "Yes there is. I am looking to join your pack, if you will allow it." She stated it matter of factly, there was no need to beat around the bush. That was a lesson in life the Fidelity always kept with her. The female wolf waited expectantly for the answer, which in all honesty was a bit nerve racking.

What a curious thing. Tamyran wondered how Fidelity had heard of them. Or why she wanted to join. The Imperius pack hadn't taken long to form a sort of bond. If she welcomed this female in, she hoped she would find a cozy place. Tamyran wouldn't call a pack a family because to her the term "pack" meant more than family did. They were former strangers who had to come together and trust and help each other. They weren't obligated to by blood. It was more than being family.
Tamyran showerd no change except her shoulders relaxed a bit, a gesture made on purpose to help Fidelity relax herself. She took a step forward. "Ah well I'm glad to see you're not another lost wanderer." she smiled slightly, knowing that too big a smile would look creepy beneath her blank eyes. A welcome breeze of wind blew by as if trying to pick up under her wings, which were only marks of grey color in her fur. 'sorry to dissapoint you, wind.' she thought.
"You're welcome to join, Fidelity," Tamyran said, "I just need to ask something." Oh how stupid will she look asking this! But it was either ask or invade the female's privacy and ask Paxton to fetch the information. Tammy couldn't risk not asking. "If you're on the run from somebody, or somebodys, it would be useful for us to know ahead of time. You know.. in case." She hoped Fidelity would understand and not take it personal. It's not like she looked like a run out wolf. But the odd way she showed up brought the thought to Tamyran's mind, and it was her responsibility to keep her pack safe as possible.

Many rumors of packs living nearby had reached Fidelity as she was traveling, it was after talking to many wanderers that she decided Imperium would be the pack she would most likely fit into. Fidelity watched Tamyran closely, reading her body language, and when the leader relaxed her shoulders, Fidelity visibly relaxed and breathed out a tiny sigh. That sign made her feel slightly better about her chances. She felt the breeze pick up and it played through her thick coat, the breeze was welcoming and Fidelity breathed in the crisp air. She loved the cold; it was her favorite kind of weather, which was why the mountains were perfect for her.
As Tamyran spoke, a smile started to form on Fidelity’s lips, she was welcome to join. “I just need to ask something” Fidelity tensed a little bit, what was she going to ask her? "If you're on the run from somebody, or somebodys, it would be useful for us to know ahead of time. You know.. in case." Well that was interesting. Was she on the run from something, in the beginning, yes, but now, it was hard to say. She didn’t want to bring any harm to this pack, so she understood the leader’s intentions. “First off, thank you. Secondly, I wouldn’t say I am on the run from somebody anymore. See now, a war broke up in my old lands causing me to run with my brother. It was when I was almost force bred that I ran again, splitting from my brother. So yes I was running from someone in the first place, but that was many, many months ago. I traveled here because of the things I have heard. I have no intention of bringing any harm to your pack.” Fidelity was content with her answer, she just hoped that Tamyran would be as well.

Tamyran listened to Fidelity tell her story. She could tell she meant no harm, she had known that. "I'm sorry to hear that," she said, not knowing what it would be like to be sepparated from a sibling. She had been an only pup, and a tool at that.
Unless whoever tried to force breed her was an obsessive lunatic, Tamyran didn't think there would be any problem. The sun was high now, and it would be a good idea to get on higher ground. In summer the valleys tended to get soggy, and the air was cooler in the mountain. She jerked her head to gesture behind her. "Let's head up then. You came just in time for our first pack meeting. Though it might take a moment for the pack to gather." They were probably scattered around, she figured. And this wasn't the easiest terain to navigate. Now that she thought of terrain, she saw that this would be Fidelity's test. Tamyran thought she would do fine, remembering the agility of when she came off that boulder.

Fidelity was relieved to hear Tamyran say she was sorry for what happened. She just shrugged and replied in a tone that was neutral and only slightly tinged with sadness, “Sometimes the unexpected happens. What doesn’t kill me only makes me stronger.” Yes, it tore Fidelity apart to be separated from Sinner, they were like two peas in a pod, but she couldn’t dwell on it. There was not a thing Fidelity could do except move on with her life and pray that he would find his way just as she had. The female refocused her gold eyes onto the leader as she heard more words fill the air.
“Let's head up then. You came just in time for our first pack meeting. Though it might take a moment for the pack to gather."
Fidelity glanced up at the mountain and its dangerous terrain; well this was definitely going to be exhilarating and somewhat skeptical at the same time. A pack meeting, eh? Well at least now she wouldn’t have to worry about finding all the members and meeting them. Fidelity nodded her muzzle, a small smile sitting on her black lips, “Well I am looking forward to meeting the members. Lead the way.” Happiness flooded Fidelity momentarily, she had a home and it looked like it would be a permanent one.

Tamyran turned and started to go up the same path she'd taken to get here. She sent Paxton out to find where the others were so she could chose a place for the meeting, somewhere close to the center of everyone. Then they'd all have a similar distance to travel. As she walked, she was careful to be aware of how Fidelity was doing. She would slow down if it was needed.
(This will continue when I post Imperium's meeting thread)
