Time: Mid Day Weather: Clear, sunny, and unbearably hot at 115°F Location: River
Mongri moved in silence, her paws carrying her to the swiftly moving river, her eyes locked on its trickling current. A long breath in sent her body shaking with thirst, Her frame had filled with muscles and her summer coat was short enough to sport her calloused skin and scars. Bright and alert steel blue eyes scanned the area for other wolves, but upon seeing none, she waded chest deep into the water and drank. She watched it with focused gazes for the chance of a fish.

Kohana soon exited out a few trees, his body lagged as the temperature soon got to him. His mind losing thought, his senses weren't processing as he walked into the loner lands. He had been here once before, but it had been awhile. He should of known that he was off Ileai's land, but yet the heat had lower his smell. As his feet burns on the small miniature size rocks. His eye sight slightly blurry, as steam rose up from the ground. "Am I dreaming or is there water." He stood still as he stared at the stream that seem slightly low. His wings hung low, as they try to shade part of his body. He didn't take notice (without thinking) of the female, but he did notice a blurry black image. He begins to walk closer to the "water" as he takes his time, his eyes so dedicated to it. He still didn't believe it, and he didn't want to fall for another mirage of a river. After reaching the water, he stood there staring almost as if he was scared to touch it. For a few minutes he stood there, questioning it, questioning if it was real or not. Lifting up one paw, he taps the water lightly feeling a cool sting to his pads and nails. He smiled and quickly jumped in, making a lot of splashes and noises as he did so. A whimper exiting out of his mouth as he was so happy, a 7 year old wolf acting as if he was 5 months old. He soon laid in the low river, as his wings laid above the water, his mouth was under as his eyes kept above water. Forgetting all about the blurry shadow he saw earlier.[/color]

Mongri lifted her head as a fish swam past her paws to the sound of the splash, her large ears swiveling to the splashing sound. She stood stock still for a moment, her long sickle like tail hanging over the water like a hook. She felt compelled to go, part of her still saying that these were her lands, and thus, she should have heard some sort of entrance howl. She rolled her eyes and shrugged her shoulders. Her thin summer coat glistening in the dry heat. She let out a long sigh and moved forward against the river, her long legs pushing through the water without trying to mask the noise. She held her tail an inch or so above the surface for a moment more before she allowed it to hang like a rudder in the water. As she approached the male she huffed through her nose, sort of like a snort. She stood to her full height, her long neck and thin feminine fatal features radiating a smug confidence. "Good--," She half barked her sentence cut short as she saw his wings. Mongri pulled her long tail once again from the water and swished it behind her. She studied the male for a few more moments in silence before she corrected herself and finished her sentence, "Good Afternoon." She tried to let a smile pull over her face but didn't manage the task very well at all. She had known her old companion had once been a winged wolf, and had even seen a select few throughout her days, but this wolf was neither related to those she knew, and therefore broke all the theories she had about where the wings came from.

Kohana soon rose from the water, as the quickly poured down onto the river. His fur slicked, as more dark brown showed throughout his coat. The white mixed in, looking a bit off white as he stood there soaking in the heat. His fur quickly becoming dry, as he stared at the wolf. He didn't realize he was not on Ileai, and he didn't know she was the one who patrolled the loner lands. His wings hanging up high, as they show off their length and height. His eyes staring at the wolf, as her body looked as if she went through some tough times. Two opposites where just standing there in the water, 'good afternoon' enter his ear's, his strong stance soon eased and he bowed his head in respect "Good afternoon"

She gave her head a mild shake and cleared her expression. The wolf smelled thickly of the forest, an Ileai wolf. She stepped to the side, exposing her ribs and the long swishing tail that seemed nearly too long to be part of her. Large ears flicked toward a distant sound in the vast land behind her.
She stepped forward a bit, moving in a graceful semicircle around the male. "You are not a loner, and thus have no business on these lands," Although the statement sounded harsh in its words, Mongris tone was soft and curious. "You are an Ileain wolf, part of the Ileai Pack?" Another step closer and she breathed in the thick pungent smell of trees, moss, and underbrush.
Standing tall and proud in the sunlight she spoke again, "A little far from home, dont cha' think?

As she showed off her rather thin body, he soon felt pain for her. His stomach growling as the thought of hunger enter his mind. He kept his eyes on her as she move gracefully around him, his wings stretching more as she moved in the semicircle. He kept his body straight, lifting his tail a bit higher each step she took. His paws kept calm and steady on the wet ground. His gift was easily hidden under the water unless someone took notice that the water was slowly lowering and he was slowly sinking. But in this case, he was still at the same level and the water was only lowering due to the sun's rays. As the female spoke, he perked his ears to listen in. He had so much to focus on, her movement, her words, and any other type of movement that was outside of his circle.
'Loner… Explains the skinniness…' he thought to himself about the female. He kept his mouth quiet, as she spoke some more. Specially asking about him and being in the Ileai pack. He sniffs the air in a sly way, hoping she wouldn't notice him doing so. His ear twitches as a few insects decide to tease, his eyes blinking. He hated bugs, he had a habit of destroying them within seconds of touching him. So without breaking the habit, a scent of death enter the air for those who had sensitive noses, and a smirk appeared on his face as the thought of death to the inspects enter his nostrils. Missing the whole conversation that she spoke of, he caught the last word ''dont cha' think?''. His face came in as confusion, he felt a little guilty that he was not paying attention but I guess that tends to happen time to time. He wasn't sure how to answer to that, since he missed everything before that. 'What is she talking about' once again thinking to himself. "Loner lands… I thought this was Ileai." He said, but within that scent he had earlier he quickly knew he was not on Ileai anymore. But what else could he of said.

Mongri swished her tail with enough force to send a mass of water splashing toward Kohana, her eyes narrowing, he hadn't heard a word she'd said, she felt a low rumble purr from her throat. The growl was more out of annoyance than anger. She rolled her eyes and stepped closer, her curiosity overwhelming her. The Ileai pack, from what she knew, wasn't designated for it's aggressiveness, and this male's relaxed demeanor wasn't exactly threatening. The water swished around her legs in waves as she walked, barely pulling her paws out of the water far enough to actually step through it. Standing barely two feet from Kohana, Mongri leaned her neck in and breathed the males scent into her lungs with a long breath.
"You thought wrong." She chuckled, motioning to the nearly barren area, and the muddy banks around her, "You are a long way from home." She said with a smile.

His ears perked, and his tail held straight as a growl of annoyance enter his ear. 'I guess she knows I wasn't paying much attention he thought to himself. He calmed his stance more as she came closer, he didn't want to start anything. "I've notice." He stood tall as he spoke, his voice very calm, more like a wise man's tone. "Guess the heat got to me, and I lost track and got off path. Saw the water, and quickly went towards it. I was just happy it wasn't fake, are these your lands I stumble upon?" He looked at her, thinking to himself that loner lands could have anyone on them, and that loner lands mean that no one took charge.

She let a sly feminine smile cross her lips, "No harm done," She chuckled. "The heat out here is quite unbearable this time of year, you're not the first to stumble out here, but your one of the few that is alive." She lowered herself into the water, her long legs splaying out in front of her. Even the water felt hot in this heat. She rose up again and shook, taking another long glance at this male. She couldnt help bu think of Zephyr, how he had meant so much to her.
"So, Ileaian wolf, what are you called."

As he looked and judged, he took notice that her eyes were the only true beauty on her, where everything else was either beaten up, scared, or just uneven with the rest of her body. He soon looked away as a cracking was heard in the dead crass that surrounded parts of the river. He looked back to her as his wings twitched on his back, his loose fur flying off as he did so, as well as a few feathers. This time of the year was when his wings seem heavy, as his body became weak from lack of water and food. When she asked him of his name he took awhile to think, his mind was racing with thoughts as the heat got to him, finally he spoke "My name is Kohana." He said respectfully, it was the best he could do for a wolf he thought was ugly, and he tried not to show it on his face. Did he want to know her name? Did he want to get to "know" this wolf? With all this running into his head he soon made a choice, "I guess it would be rude of me to not ask, but what is your name?" as the thought of kindness came across, he should have been beaten down for being here, specially with a stray, loner.
